How To Prepare For JAMB UTME Exams

There are a few things you might need along the way when preparing for the exams, these can include literature books, apps, etc., keep that in mind when preparing for JAMB 2021.

1.   Use The Past Q & A Books To Revise

One of the most effective ways to prepare for any exam in Nigeria is by utilizing the power of Past Questions And Answers books. The past Q & A’s often feature thousands of questions from decades ago, and within the pages of the book contains the answers and solutions to the questions.

You should use the past questions and answers to revise as often as you can, it is one of the best ways to get the most out of your revision time, as this will help you become familiar with the nature of the questions of the exam, and it will help you get used to the format on how the questions are set.

You can get your hands on a Jamb Past Q & A in any bookstore, you can check or ask for it in the bookshop nearest to you.

2.   Download A CBT Practice Software

Even better than using Past Q & A books, is using CBT practice software. A CBT practice software is a computer application that allows you to take a computer-based exam or test, right on your computer without having to visit any exam center. It allows you to test your skills and knowledge against real-life Jamb questions.

There are different CBT practice software online, some are paid for and some are free, you can even download CBT apps for mobile phones to use on an android. JAMB has its official CBT practice software, but others often provide a similar experience to the real-deal, and they help students all the same.

You should note that the best CBT apps should have the following features; the tests are timed, it has a lot of subjects, has thousands of Jamb past questions, and don’t forget to look out for great reviews from users before downloading the app.

3.   Read Your Regular Notebooks

Revision using only past questions and CBT practice apps are not enough, you shouldn’t forget to read your books either, because your notebooks/textbooks are the first and primary source of knowledge that you need to pass the exams. They contain all the lessons and topics you were taught at school.

Take the time to read your books on each subject, learn it and revise it whenever you can, that way, you will gain the necessary knowledge to be able to answer the past questions more confidently, and you will be able to pick the correct answers during the actual JAMB 2021 exams.

Every year, JAMB has a specific literature it wants students to read, buy the JAMB recommended book and read it, there is no doubt questions will be asked from the book.

The more you read the more knowledge and information you retain, so try to read your books often before and after the exams.

4.   Revise With Friends

You are most likely writing this year’s JAMB with some friends, usually from the same school or class. You can try to get together for revision occasionally, and you can ask any of your friends about anything you don’t understand, maybe one of them knows or can explain it better.

Having ‘study friends’ is helpful, it can improve your knowledge of a subject and will definitely improve your chances of success in the JAMB 2021 due to frequent practice with others with the same goal of passing JAMB.

5.   Listen To Instructions From Your School And Teachers

Success in Jamb 2021 cannot only be defined by studying, but you also need to follow the rules and regulations of the exams in order to succeed, and what better way to stay informed of the rules than by listening to your teachers and school.

Especially if this is your first time writing JAMB, you will need all the guidance you can get, and your teachers will make sure you are well aware of the do’s and don’ts, and will ensure you have all the necessary information that you need to help you navigate the exams, until it is done.

So we advise you to stay close to your teachers and learn anything you can about JAMB 2021 from them, the school will also regularly update you about issues regarding the Jamb 2021, for instance, they will remind you to reprint your slips.

6.   Protect Your JAMB E-facility Password

This is a common problem found among JAMB candidates, they often forget their passwords and run the risk of not being able to access their results and admissions.

Don’t lose your password. First, you should try to protect it by inputting something you won’t easily forget, next, you should memorize it. If you are truly afraid that you will forget it then write it down somewhere safe.

Your username and password are what you will use to gain access to your JAMB portal, where you can accept and reject admissions, reprint slips, check result, print results, etc.

There is an option to recover your password if you forgot or couldn’t log in, it can be found just below the login tabs in the main page of the JAMB portal, you can use it to recover your password, but it’s always a hassle, and you are better off remembering your password.

7.   Need Help With A Tutor, Get One

It is not too late to get a tutor, as a parent, your child could use the extra help of a tutor to get through Jamb 2021. Tutors are beneficial in so many ways, they can help a student practice more, revise, learn new things and help them prepare for JAMB and other exams.

You can get tutors for free if you have a friend who is willing to teach you, or get a paid tutor that will come around once or twice a week to help with your JAMB preparation.

So, whether you are writing JAMB for the first time, or re-sitting for the exams, if you practice these tips and follow some of the guidelines mentioned above for the JAMB 2021, you should now find preparing for Jamb a much easier task.
